Columbia Global Centers | Turkey’s conference on the "Future of the Liberal Order’" took place on May 22 and 23 in cooperation with the Istanbul Policy Center at Sabanci University and the Transatlantic Academy of the German Marshall Fund. It was organized under the leadership of Professor Ahmet Evin, Jean Monnet Chair at Sabanci University in Istanbul and an Advisory Board member of the Turkey Center.
The conference brought together renowned scholars and analysts from around the world to debate the state of democracy, the rise of emerging markets and the future of the global order based on analysis featured in the recent report, "The Democratic Disconnect: Citizenship and Accountability in the Transatlantic Community." The Istanbul Observatory is envisioned to foster a series of global conversations on related topics through the network of the Columbia Global Centers.
