Trauma Certificate Program Offers its First Graduates

July 06, 2013

The Trauma Rehabilitation Certificate Program, a year-long program offered by Bilgi University in partnership with the International Center for Trauma Studies, concluded its first year with a final seminar and a diploma ceremony. Participants in the course made presentations about the projects they plan to implement in the field in areas as diverse as migration, historical trauma, and domestic violence. Professor Holger A. Klein, chair of Columbia’s Art History and Archaeology Department and chair of the Istanbul Center’s Faculty Steering Committee, and Rana Zincir Celal, program manager, were on hand for the diploma ceremony and closing reception.

Columbia Global Centers | Turkey congratulates all the graduates of the program and wishes them well as they continue their service to trauma survivors around Turkey. We also extend our immense gratitude to Professors Murat Paker and Ayten Zara of Bilgi University, as well as Professor Jack Saul of Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, for their exceptional efforts in creating a pioneering, rigorous and meaningful program. The program will be offered for a second year to a new group of students in fall 2014.
