Ada Lam

Ada Lam is a strategic philanthropy and grants management professional whose career traverses the corporate and non-profit sectors. She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hong Kong.

Ada previously served as Deputy Executive Director at a Private Foundation in Hong Kong, where she drove strategic initiatives, grant programmes, and collaborative partnerships across Asia. In her role at the Foundation, Ada reported directly to the Board of Directors to establish comprehensive strategic giving frameworks that aligned grants with measurable climate and environmental objectives. She also oversaw the Southeast Asia grant portfolio, managing a regional team working across Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand. Her specialised focus areas include greenhouse gas mitigation projects, climate adaptation strategies, nature-based solutions, and community-driven environmental initiatives. She has orchestrated re-granting partnerships with donor-advised funds, CSR divisions of major financial institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals throughout the region. Her understanding of regulatory environments in Asia includes specialised knowledge of cross-border giving to mainland China and Vietnam.

Ada serves as a non-executive director of District Capital, the investment arm of a family office focused on addressing climate-related challenges while generating returns. Earlier in her career, Ada co-founded a specialist communications agency that the team drove to become a market leader in Hong Kong, ultimately exiting to a multinational firm in 2017. Before that, she was active in the cultural non-profit space, developing key skills in stakeholder engagement, fundraising, and strategy development, an experience she now applies to amplifying the Asian voice in climate philanthropy.
