About the Mumbai Center

Columbia Global Center Mumbai is part of a network of 11 Global Centers of Columbia University in the City of New York, one of the world's leading academic institutions. The Mumbai Center was established in 2010 to serve as a research, education, and knowledge hub for developing innovative solutions to India's pressing challenges. We conduct innovative and inter-disciplinary research, design educational opportunities for students and professionals, and disseminate research to wider publics in academia, government, civil society, and the private sector. By connecting the University’s world-class scholars and students with peers from the region, we work to deepen knowledge that can transform society.  We are part of Columbia Global, which brings together major initiatives from across the university to advance knowledge and foster global engagement to address complex global challenges. As of August 2024, Columbia Global comprises the Columbia Global Centers, Columbia World Projects, the Committee on Global Thought, the Institute for Ideas and Imagination, and Undergraduate Global Engagement
