Current Job Opportunities

Based in Mumbai and reporting to the Director of the Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai, the Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial management of the Center. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing banking relationships for the Center, including carefully monitoring cash positions
  • Performing monthly international bank reconciliation processes in accordance with the Columbia Global Centers’ Standard Operating Procedures
  • Computing and preparing all forms that are statutorily required under the Income Tax Act, 1961
  • Formulating and tracking the Center’s budget, and enabling the formulation of project and programmatic budgets
  • Processing financial payments for the organization
  • Executing and maintaining records of employee contracts, providing updates on HR policies and compliances that have financial implications, and providing current and prospective employees with information about compensation and benefits policies
  • Providing quarterly budget reports and analysing patterns of spending
  • Preparing all supporting information for the annual audit and liaising with auditors when necessary
  • Documenting and maintaining complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:  

  • Graduate degree in relevant field required; post-graduate degree desirable
  • Relevant work experience of 7-10 years in financial management
  • Work experience in Mumbai required
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
  • Ability to deliver on deadline, and work in an organized and responsible manner
  • Expertise in using computational systems for data management

Location: Mumbai

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Photo and video editing, including creating short highlights videos for online platforms and social media.
  • Creating visual and print collateral as required.

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:  

  • Work experience in audio-visual design and video editing
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience in photography and videography
  • Ability to deliver on deadline, and work in an organized and responsible manner
  • Rigorous attention to detail

Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai functions as a knowledge hub and develops projects and activities on key challenges relating to India in the global context.  Reporting to the Director of the Center, the Senior Program Officer for Health is responsible for the following activities:

  • Designing programs and proposals that lead to concrete research, training, and public dissemination activities on health in the Indian context that could include health and environment, nutrition, mental health, non-communicable diseases, palliative care, access to treatment
  • Engaging with faculty from across Columbia University’s colleges, departments, research centers, and professional schools for establishing programmatic and research activities
  • Developing close working relationships with potential Columbia partners in India, including universities, research centers, government entities, and private firms
  • Executing program events and supervising logistical planning, budgets, publicity, and program execution
  • Writing proposals, reports, and essays for the newsletter of the Center
  • Participating in monthly calls with other program staff across the Columbia Global Centers network and attending occasional program staff meetings
  • Traveling on occasion in India and abroad to advance the goals of the Center
  • Performing other duties as required to meet the goals and mission of the Center and the global centers network

The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:

  • Post-graduate degree in Public Health or health-related fields required
  • Relevant work experience of 7-10 years with academic research and public programs related to health
  • A post-graduate degree from the United States is highly desirable
  • Excellent writing skills in English, error-free and evidence-based
  • Excellent coordinating skills and a passion for public programming
  • Ability to work responsibly, take initiative, and generate new ideas
  • Knowledge of research and higher education institutions in India
  • Ability to work in a collaborative fashion  
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English
  • Good organizational abilities, including familiarity with budgeting
