As part of the Columbia Climate School Summer Program in Greece, graduate students from Columbia University and the University of Western Macedonia explored key challenges and opportunities related to energy transition, climate solutions, and sustainability. Working in joint teams composed of students from both universities, participants combined diverse academic perspectives and expertise to develop collaborative research projects. Drawing on insights gained through academic coursework, field visits, and engagement with policymakers and industry leaders, students prepared presentations on critical topics shaping the future of sustainable energy systems. These projects highlight innovative pathways for achieving a sustainable and equitable energy future while addressing the challenges of regional and global climate transition.
