The preliminary program schedule and important dates outlined in the recruitment information are not expected to undergo major changes.
Selected fellows are required to attend a two-day pre-departure event at the Columbia Global Center Beijing, as well as a one-day program conclusion event (travel support will be provided for fellows outside of Beijing). Selected fellows will travel to the U.S. in late September (exact dates to be announced) for four weeks of tailored academic experiences, meetings, site visits and events in New York, followed by one week of field visits and meetings on the West Coast. Fellowship History
The Richard Rockefeller Fellowship was established in 2016 as a tribute to Dr. Richard Rockefeller, who was profoundly inspired by the growth of Chinese philanthropy and the relationships he formed with philanthropic families in China. Before his tragic death in 2014, he became a passionate advocate for strategic philanthropy as a means to strengthen U.S.-China partnership and address global challenges.
The Fellowship is supported through major contributions from, among others, the Lao Niu Brother & Sister Foundation and members of the Rockefeller family.
