Columbia India Hour

Our new series unites the Columbia community in India by providing a platform for sharing ideas. experiences, and insights from those who have walked a similar path.

Many of you have told us that while you value Columbia's events in India, you would welcome more regular opportunities to connect with fellow alumni, engage with faculty, and participate in conversations that bring Columbia's ideas and expertise closer to the issues shaping India today. That inspired us to think about how to create a genuine rhythm of connection that goes beyond marquee events. This is what we have built.  Presenting Columbia India Hour, an exclusive online conversation series designed to unite the Columbia community with a focus on India.

Held twice a month as an online webinar, each session brings you directly into the room with Columbia faculty and celebrated alumni working on something that matters — and matters, in particular, to India.

Here are the two types of sessions you can expect:

From the Field

A Columbia faculty member shares their current research with particular relevance to India. This will be followed by an open floor for you to ask anything, from their work to campus life experiences to trends in U.S. academia.

In Conversation

A spotlight on a Columbia alumnus — their journey, choices, and the paths they have taken since leaving campus. An honest exchange among people who share a common foundation. The discussion will be guided by a fellow community member.

Launching on Aug 5, our Inaugural Session -  AI, Education, and the Future of Business: Implications for Leaders in India and Beyond

Our inaugural session is a From the Field conversation with Costis Maglaras, Dean of Columbia Business School and one of the world's leading thinkers on data, artificial intelligence, and the intelligent organization.
