Lingyu Kong
Lingyu Kong leads the climate change program at Foodthink, an organization dedicated to transforming agriculture and food systems through narrative change, grassroots empowerment, and policy advocacy. She and her colleagues focus on solutions that strengthen public participation and support communities of smallholder farmers and consumers—such as alternative food networks, agroecology, and food sovereignty—while also challenging agri-corporations’ greenwashing practices.
Lingyu brings over a decade of experience in journalism and NGO campaigns on climate, environmental, and food issues in China. Her commitment to climate action began during her time as an environmental reporter with Caixin Media. She later advanced her work in nonprofit organizations across the environmental and climate sector, while continuing to write as a freelance journalist. Lingyu holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Environmental Science.
