Research topics in this concentration include access to medicines, development and distribution of effective diagnostics for prevention, and medical, business and legal reform for democratizing patent policies.

Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai, in partnership with Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, held a panel discussion featuring two recipients of the Yusuf Hamied Fellowships, Professor Bhaven Sampat from Columbia University and Dr. Hasan Farooqui from the Public Health Foundation of India, who discussed the impact of regulations on pharmaceuticals in India.
