Paris Global Center Special Projects Coordinator

Tessa Overvoorde joined Reid Hall in 2024 as Student Life Assistant for the Columbia Undergraduate Programs in Paris.

She now works as Special Projects Coordinator alongside Marie Volkea Doezema to support and expand civic engagement projects, the Columbia Faculty Visitorship Program, and the Displaced Artists/Journalists Initiatives. She is also involved in planning and coordinating the podcast series, Atelier, as well as events open to the general public.

Tessa holds a B.A. from Maastricht University (2018), completed a premaster at Leiden University (2020), and earned an M.A. with honors from Goldsmiths, University of London (2024). She studied sociology, media, and communications in the Netherlands, Australia, and the United Kingdom. She specialized in social justice, critical race and postcolonial theory. Her master’s dissertation examined the use of anger within social movements.
