Founded in 1915, the institution was created through the fusion of several groups and organizations that worked in the areas of social assistance to the Jewish community, with the purpose of helping the thousands of immigrants who arrived in Brazil as a result of World War I (1914 -1918) and, years later, of the Second World War (1939-1945). The integration of these entities was a solution to optimize efforts and better manage financial resources.
Today, more than 100 years later, Unibes preserves the principles and values of these entities based on social justice and is proud to be one of the most respected institutions in the third sector, recognized in the public and private sectors for its credibility, efficiency, and transparency.
