Yanhua (Cindy) Liu

Yanhua (Cindy) Liu has more than 10 years of finance experience at Wall Street, New York. She worked on primary and secondary transaction risk management and asset management in HSBC, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During the 2008 financial crisis, Liu was responsible for the risk management of Morgan Stanley Asset Management Company's over USD 100 billion private equity investment.

In 2015, she was hired by Ping An through its overseas elite recruitment program. Liu returned to China and held the positions of deputy general manager of Ping An Securities Hong Kong, and general manager of investment transaction risk prevention at Ping An Securities headquarters.

Before hired as an industry mentor by the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University in 2019, Liu was an adjunct professor and industry mentor at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Finance of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

Liu is currently the senior global asset allocation advisor of Haitou Global, the council member of Tsinghua Hong Kong Alumni Association, and the co-chairman of Columbia University Shenzhen Alumni Association.

Liu holds a Bachelor of Modern Applied Physics from Tsinghua University, a Master from Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. of Applied Physics from Columbia University under the tutelage of Professor Thomas Marshall, who pioneered the development of free electron lasers.
