Yuhe Gao

Yuhe Grace Gao is a Climate and Energy Project Manager at Greenpeace East Asia, where she leads the Low Carbon Development Policy Project, focusing on China’s energy transition, renewable energy development, and power system transformation. She also serves as a spokesperson on China’s climate and energy issues, engaging with policymakers, media, and the public to advance evidence-based discussions on climate action.

With over 10 years of experience in climate and environmental policy, Yuhe has worked with leading international environmental organizations, including the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and Greenpeace. Her work bridges policy research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication to explore practical pathways for China’s low-carbon transformation.

Yuhe has led and contributed to research initiatives on coal transition, renewable energy development, and China’s future power system transformation. Her perspectives on climate and energy policy have been featured in international media outlets including Reuters, The Guardian, and South China Morning Post.

Yuhe holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University, with a focus on nonprofit management.
