Fitwi is a mechanical engineer who aspires to pursue a career in the design and control of automatic, robotic, and smart systems. His aspirations stem from his profound desire to have a major contribution in our global community’s well-being. Born and raised in Asmara, Eritrea, filled with great, authentic, and diligent people, and coming from a family that highly values education, he grew up believing in the power and freedom education can provide. This belief is what drives him every day. With this belief, he strives to excel on a daily basis. With this belief, he managed to finish his undergraduate program on a high, finishing top of the entire engineering school at Eritrea Institute of Technology and being awarded with a medal for his academic achievement. With the same desire and hunger for success, he will now be pursuing his graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University.
