Yves is a social worker, public health practitioner, mental health counselor, holistic strategist, and writer. Yves developed a successful holistic approach, based on the social determinants of health, for his chronically homeless clients. Yves' holistic framework consists of integrating body, mind, spirit, emotions and stories. Yves is an openly gay man and was granted political asylum in the United States in 2019 due to the ongoing discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in his native Haiti. Despite the cultural homophobia in his native Haiti and the Haitian diaspora, Yves is strongly engaged in civil rights activism and human rights advocacy, especially around LGBTQ+ rights and Black Lives Matter. Yves holds a Bachelor degree in Spanish with two minors in French & Politics from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. He also has a postgraduate certificate in International Public Health from University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
