Columbia Climate School and Columbia Global Center Beijing are excited to host a virtual information session for prospective students on the evolving landscape of climate finance in Asia, a region defined by rapid energy growth, increased climate vulnerability and financing needs, and expanding financial and technological capabilities. Asia’s climate finance landscape is dynamic, transformative, and playing an ever more central role in shaping global pathways.
This session, led by Professor Lisa Sachs, Director of the MS in Climate Finance, will place these developments in the context of the broader global climate finance landscape, highlighting distinctions across Asia, the U.S., and Europe, and examining opportunities for mobilizing capital, advancing low-carbon infrastructure, and fostering greater regional integration and partnership in support of sustainable development.
Additionally, we will present a broad overview of our diverse graduate programs, with a spotlight on the MS in Climate Finance, a one-year, 39-credit professional degree offered by the Columbia Climate School in close collaboration with Columbia Business School. This interdisciplinary program integrates climate science with core financial management practices, equipping students with the advanced decision-making skills needed to drive effective financial responses to the growing risks and opportunities posed by climate change. We will be sure to discuss the application process and financial aid opportunities.
