Columbia Global Center Athens: Inaugural Distinguished Speaker Series

As extreme weather events intensify in Greece — from wildfires to floods — Artificial Intelligence is considered an important driver. But of what? AI stands accused of fueling climate change while simultaneously heralded as a solution for adaptation and mitigation.

How can we cut through these contradictions to find the real potential for change?

Join us for the inaugural event of Columbia Global Center Athens' Distinguished Speaker Series, where Columbia University professor Pierre Gentine will assess AI’s complex relationship with climate change and offer insights into innovative policy solutions. A discussion with Professor George Deodatis will follow, moderated by Columbia Business School Dean Costis Maglaras, bringing together actionable perspectives on a pressing global issue.
