Columbia Global Centers on the Road to COP30

How will the decisions and deals reached by policymakers at this year's UN climate change conference — COP30 — actually affect communities around the world? A series of online events from Columbia Global Centers showcased regional experts discussing what their communities want to see happen at the conference, which took place in Belém, Brazil in November.

The journey of virtual discussions hosted by our Global Centers went from Beijing to Rio de Janeiro, with each conversation investigating the big questions shaping local climate conversations and how they connect to global climate negotiations.

Each event offered speakers with a diverse blend of perspectives, including Columbia scholars, local experts and advocates, and young people who grew up living with these issues as a daily part of their lives.

From Asia and the Middle East to Africa, Europe, and Latin America, watch one or all of the events to see how Columbia Global's communities prepared for COP30.
