Tunis Climate Change

On October 14, 2024, Columbia Global Center Tunis, in collaboration with South Mediterranean University (SMU) and Columbia University Press, hosted Columbia Business School’s Professor Bruce Usher, author of the book Investing in the Era of Climate Change (CUP, 2024). The event took place at SMU’s Tunis campus, where Professor Bruce Usher shared insights from his most recent book, focusing on the intersection of climate finance and sustainability. 

“In a world growing hotter day by day, the Mediterranean has emerged as a critical battleground in the fight against the climate crisis. The Mediterranean region faces an especially acute climate crisis, warming 25% faster than the world average, with summer temperatures rising 40% more rapidly. 1 In recent years, this accelerated warming has driven increasingly severe and frequent heat waves, droughts, and wildfires across the basin.
