Columbia Giving Day is Almost Here: Your Gift Helps Power Global Impact
On October 1, the Columbia community will come together to show what is possible in 24 hours. Columbia Giving Day, an annual 24-hour online event, is a chance to leverage our collective strength in support of the people and programs that are shaping the future and helping solve our most complex global issues.
For us at Columbia Global, Giving Day is a chance to continue doing what we do best: creating partnerships and fostering leadership to deliver global education, support transformative research, map innovations to challenges, and convene novel conversations. And this year’s Giving Day theme, “community,” couldn’t be more fitting.
By donating, you can join us in creating lasting change. Every gift on Giving Day goes directly to programs that make a real difference:
Invest in future leaders
Want to support the future leaders who will shape the world? Columbia Global is dedicated to providing students and emerging leaders with the tools they need to make an impact.
Support the Obama Scholars Program, which offers emerging leaders immersive education, mentorship, and skills-development opportunities to accelerate their impact in their communities.
Or consider donating to Columbia Global’s Social Impact Fellowship, which gives students the chance to explore their passions for tackling complex societal challenges through skills-building, site visits, and conversations with social impact leaders.
“The Obama Scholars Program gave me a framework for difficult decision-making as a public official. I feel confident about the decisions I make, with the backing of what I learned,” said Ana Maria Gonzalez-Forero ’18-’19, Secretary of the Interior and Coexistence of Cartagena.
Support those who need it most
Looking to make a direct impact on displaced students and scholars? Your donation can provide life-changing opportunities for individuals who’ve had their education disrupted by conflict.
You can donate to the Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students, which provides displaced students with the opportunity to pursue higher education at Columbia.
Additionally, the Columbia Global Emerging Scholars Fellowship Program supports displaced early-career scholars by helping them reintegrate into academia and grow in their fields.
“As an Afghan refugee in Pakistan, I never dreamed that I would graduate with my master’s. Thanks to the Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students, I was able to fulfill a childhood dream,” said Shabnam Fayyaz ’22GSAS.
Solutions across the globe
Can’t pick just one? You can support Columbia Global’s work in multiple areas by donating to the Columbia Global Annual Fund, which ensures our initiatives continue to thrive and expand their reach.
Turn thinking into doing
From supporting refugee mental health interventions across the Middle East, to transforming wastewater infrastructure in the U.S., to tackling the climate crisis in Brazil, Columbia Global is driving the future of our world and solving global challenges.
On October 1, you can have a direct hand in turning ideas into action. Join us on Giving Day and help Columbia Global continue to build a brighter, more connected world.
