CGC Tunis Welcomes the Vice Chair of its Faculty Advisory Committee

On January 19th, Columbia Global Centers | Tunis welcomed the Vice Chair of its Faculty Advisory Committee Pr. Kamel Jedidi, Jerome A. Chazen Professor of Global Business at Columbia Business School, during his visit to Tunisia for the Chazen Global Immersion Program

Global Immersion is a Chazen Institute-funded program that bridges classroom lessons and business practices in another country, offering a unique educational experience. These 3-credit classes facilitated through Course Match, commence with half a term in New York before culminating in a one-week visit to the country of focus. Following the travel portion, students reconvene at Columbia Business School for at least one wrap-up meeting, enriching their understanding and reflecting on their experiences gained abroad.

For his ‘Global Immersion: Business and Entrepreneurship in Tunisia class’, Pr. Kamel Jedidi, has been conducting annual visits to Tunisia with a group of around 30 graduate students for more than a decade. Throughout the Immersion Week, students learn about private equity, management, entrepreneurship, and other aspects of the economy of a North African country in transition through meetings with business executives and government officials.

Pr. Kamel Jedidi is Jerome A. Chazen Professor of Global Business at Columbia Business School, New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Tunis and a Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Marketing and Statistics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Pr. Jedidi has extensively published in leading marketing and statistical journals. His research interests include pricing, product positioning, and market segmentation. He was awarded the 1998 IJRM Best Article Award and the Marketing Science Institute 2000 Best Paper Award. He was also a finalist for the 2009 Paul Green Award for the Journal of Marketing Research and the 2009 Long-term Impact Paper Award for Marketing/Management Science.  

Pr. Jedidi is the Senior Editor of the Consumer Needs and Solutions Journal and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing. He has conducted seminars at several business conferences and universities and has also spoken at and consulted with several multinational companies. He is a Founding Trustee of the Marketing Accountability Standards Board (MASB), a member of the Faculty Advisory Committee, Columbia Global Centers (Amman), a Senior Editor for Rutgers Business Review, and a member of the Academic Council of ENPC’s School of International Management.
