Columbia Business School Explores Prospective Students in Santiago

Over 40 potential applicants attended an info session organized by the Santiago Center and the CBS Alumni Club of Chile.

Eviana Bell, Assistant Director of Admissions at Columbia Business School (CBS), recently embarked on a mission to connect with potential candidates for its MBA program in Santiago, Chile. Led by Eviana Bell, Assistant Director of Admissions, the visit aimed to offer valuable insights into the application process and the unique offerings of Columbia's globally recognized MBA program, which in 2023 was ranked first in the world in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking.

As part of the outreach efforts, Columbia Business School actively participated in the MBA Tour Networking Fair,engaging with numerous interested candidates in Santiago. The highlight of the visit was an information session held at the headquarters of Banco Bci, which attracted over 40 prospective students. Sponsored by Banco Bci and organized in collaboration with the CBS Alumni Club of Chile and the Santiago Center, the event provided detailed discussions on CBS's core mission pillars, entry options, admissions criteria, and application timelines.

The information session featured firsthand insights from Columbia Business School alumni, including Giancarlo Solari (CBS’21) Francisca Lund (CBS’15), Jorge Domínguez (CBS’85), and Matías de Bourguignon (CBS’22). They shared their enriching experiences at Columbia and offered valuable advice to prospective students, highlighting the benefits of both the CBS experience and the city of New York.

Reflecting on the event's success, Eviana Bell expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic response from prospective students in Santiago. She remarked, "I was delighted to see how many prospective students were in attendance. They were incredibly enthusiastic about CBS, and it was rewarding to engage with them during small group conversations and the MBA Tour Networking Fair,” adding that “They were so grateful for the fact that they had an event where they could hear about the CBS experience directly from our alums and seem incredibly enthusiastic about CBS.”

Bell further emphasized the importance of the Center’s support in their recruitment efforts in Chile, stating, “On behalf of the entire Admissions Office, we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of Columbia Global Centers | Santiago with our recruitment efforts in Chile!”
