Reese Yen, a Columbia College student of the class of 2027, recently won first place in the Center for Undergraduate Global Engagement’s 2025 photo contest.
During her summer abroad in Paris in the Art Humanities and Music Humanities Program, Yen visited the coastal town of Étretat with a friend. She says, "We chose Étretat because we had been studying Claude Monet’s Impressionist paintings of its iconic cliffs and seashore, and we wanted to see them for ourselves. They were just as breathtaking in person as they are in his paintings." Her photo of the very same cliffs won the prize.
