Research Projects:
Climate Action Collective 2022
Through consultations with diverse stakeholders, we drafted a report identifying physical threats, and social, financial, and mental health effects of climate change. The report highlighted the need for a multi-pronged strategy to address climate change through transformative changes in knowledge, policy, technology, systems, processes, and institutions.
Cyclone and Storm Surge Risk to Mumbai
The project assessed the risks of storm surge to Mumbai. It was funded by the President's Global Innovation Fund and led by Adam H. Sobel, Professor, Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics and Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Education Programs:
Climate Fellows Program
The Center collaborated with Columbia University’s Center for Global Energy Policy to train Climate Fellows working with the Maharashtra government’s Department of Environment and Climate Change. Training modules ranged from decarbonization in the building and transport sector and e-mobility to air quality monitoring and climate finance.
Student Programs:
Collaboratory on Plastic
The Center partnered with Columbia University’s Office of Undergraduate Global Programs to provide undergraduate students a platform to understand the impact of plastics on environment and health, and identify innovative solutions for plastic waste management.
