May 26, 2023

The Columbia University Commencement of the 269th academic year was held on May 17, featuring President Lee C. Bollinger's last Commencement speech after serving as University President for 21 years. As per tradition, President Bollinger conferred honorary Doctor of Laws degree on President-Designate Minouche Shafik, who will assume office on July 1.

During the ceremony, 49 Chilean students graduated from 9 Columbia schools, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey. These graduates specialized in various fields such as law, arts, business, journalism, climate, professional studies, public health, international and public affairs, as well as education at Teachers College.

The Santiago Center congratulates the recent graduates on their achievements as they embark on their future endeavors, confident in their ability to make a positive impact in their respective fields.

We encourage them to stay connected through our social media channels, and they are also invited to join the Columbia Alumni Association of Chile, as well as the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of Chile
