Columbia Global is pleased to announce the establishment of the Columbia Global Resilience Fund, an innovative initiative designed to harness the university’s intellectual resources and expertise to support recovery and resiliency in response to crises worldwide. Columbia Global has released the inaugural Request for Proposals under the fund, which seeks submissions from Columbia University faculty and researchers to advance recovery and resilience work in the regions of Turkey affected by devastating earthquakes in February 2023, with demonstrated partnerships with local institutions in the country.
The Resilience Fund, seeded with an initial investment of $1 million, represents a commitment by Columbia to address major global crises. This includes support for projects that develop novel solutions to support recovery from these crises and work to establish resiliency in the face of future threats. The Fund will also facilitate visiting scholars, conferences and student fellowships focused on recovery and resiliency to engage with the proposed work.

The submission deadline for this RFP is Feb. 5, 2024, with the Resilience Fund awardees to be selected in March 2024.
