On Sept.16th, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and A Better Community (ABC) jointly launched the 2017 China’s Non-profit Sector Remuneration & Talent Development Practice Report.
On August 26th, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invited Columbia University Columbia College student, Shaun Wang, to conduct a special talk on his independent project. For the past three years, Shaun has conducted independent interviews with more than 40 Chinese private art museums, art centers, and art foundation; 54 art museum founders, directors, and CEOs.
On Aug. 19, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing held an opening ceremony for "In Between Spaces — Philippines Art Exhibition." In Between Spaces aims to forge a link by using video art and photography as a lens to view the Philippine contemporary art landscape. The exhibition brings together artistic visions and investigations from four contemporary Filipino artists whose works explore themes of traditions and modernity; collective and personal memory; and the consciousness found in urban spaces. The Exhibition features Dex Fernandez, Paulo Vinluan, Jay Campos, and MM Yu.

On October 24, Columbia University School of Professional Studies successfully held an information session in Columbia Global Centers | Beijing. David Madigan, Ph.D., Executive Vice-President for Arts & Sciences, and Dean of the Faculty, addressed a speech on “The University in the Global Age”.
President Bollinger and Dean Becker Attending Panel Discussion with CAFA Artists： Challenge of Art Education in the New Age
On November 9, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing, in partnership with Columbia University School of the Arts and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), host a panel titled “Art, Artists, and Education in Contemporary Societies––China and U.S. Perspectives” successfully. Lee C. Bollinger, President of Columbia University, and Xinping Su, Vice President of CAFA were invited to deliver opening remarks.
