His research project at Columbia Global Centers Amman examines the resilience and resistance of Yemeni women in peacebuilding during a decade of war, with a focus on how their experiences are represented in contemporary Yemeni literature. By analyzing works by Bushra al-Maqtari, Nadia Al-Kawkabani, and Marwan al-Ghafoori, I explore how women navigate war, oppression, and social transformation, and how their roles contribute to inclusive peace efforts. This work combines literary analysis, feminist and postcolonial theory, and historical context to highlight gendered perspectives on conflict and to amplify marginalized voices in peacebuilding discourse. The title of my project is “From Silence to Strength: The Resilience and Resistance of Yemeni Women in Peacebuilding During a Decade of War in the Works of Select Yemeni Writers”.
