Over the last two decades, American universities have become deeply entwined with China. Now five years post-Covid, what is the state of this relationship and where is it going?

This panel discussion will explore the history of Sino-US education exchange and the role that policy and institutions have played in deepening these ties, its effects on student experiences, and how the dynamics for students and faculty impact the campus environment.

Is it possible to be a truly "global" institution in this current moment? Join the Committee on Global Thought, the Columbia Global Center Beijing, and the Weatherhead East Asian Institute for a thought-provoking conversation on how these issues shape Columbia's campus today.

Panelists

  • Adam Tooze, Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Professor of History and Chair of the Committee on Global Thought
