Artificial intelligence is transforming not only technology itself, but also our industries, education systems, organizations, and approaches to social governance.

As AI continues to reshape global industries and governance structures, a more important question emerges: how can we ensure that technological change ultimately serves society as a whole?

On Saturday afternoon, June 27, Columbia Global Center Beijing will host four leading Columbia University scholars from across disciplines for a discussion on the profound impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary social, economic, and educational systems.

The event will explore the opportunities and challenges brought by artificial intelligence, as well as the role universities should play in advancing knowledge creation, guiding innovation, and promoting the public good. It will also consider how higher education institutions can help drive responsible and socially valuable technological development in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Join our guest speakers:

Wafaa El-Sadr, Executive Vice President, Columbia Global (Moderator)

Benjamin L. Liebman, Professor of Law and Vice Dean for Intellectual Life

Adam Tooze, Professor of History, Chair of the Committee on Global Thought, and the Director of the European Institute at Columbia University

Tian Zheng, Professor of Statistics, College of Arts and Sciences and co-lead of Columbia’s AI for Social Good and Society Initiative
