Located in nine cities across four continents, the Global Centers are Columbia’s physical and intellectual manifestation in the world. We offer a unique platform that facilitates collaborative and impactful engagement of the University’s faculty, students, staff, and alumni, through educational programs, research collaborations, internship opportunities, and many other programs and initiatives.

Virtual Internships
Columbia Global Centers around the world have identified hundreds of virtual internships throughout their partner networks, which will be available to review January 20th, 2022. Despite travel restrictions, students will be able to find a rewarding opportunity as a global intern doing important work.
Forced Migration: A Global Centers Signature Focus
“Forced migration is a global humanitarian tragedy. It disrupts the lives, hopes, and potential of so many, in ways that are profound and long lasting. The Global Centers leverage the strength of Columbia’s intellectual assets and resources to address the complex challenges posed by forced migration, through signature initiatives such as our Committee on Forced Migration, the Scholarship for Displaced Students, our Mellon Foundation Fellowships, and, as a response to the Afghanistan crisis, with the initiative to host displaced Afghan scholars. These efforts are making a difference."

Meet the 2021 Displaced Student Scholarship Recipients
The Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students - Columbia's first-ever University-wide scholarship, and the world's first scholarship of its kind - supports displaced students from anywhere in the world by offering them full scholarships to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees across Columbia’s 19 schools and affiliates.
We are pleased to announce our second cohort of 15 students, who join Columbia from 11 countries and attend 10 different Columbia schools. Click on their individual profiles below to learn more about their incredible journeys.
Across its first two cohorts, the Scholarship has now supported 33 students from 19 countries attending 14 schools.
