From the Pegasus Project to Israel’s targeting of journalists in Gaza to the Viktoriia Project, which carried on the work of Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna into Russia’s imprisonment and torture of Ukrainian civilians…
Join us for a special event with Forbidden Stories and Society that will bring together journalists from both teams to talk about how they worked together to adapt Forbidden Stories’ work for a new special edition of Society. The discussion of both the Viktoriia and Gaza projects will include projections of Forbidden Stories’ video investigations from the two projects. We will also be able to share key updates about the Viktoriia Project.
Support the campaign and pre-order the special edition here.
Journalists from both the Forbidden Stories and Society teams, as well as American journalist Jelani Cobb, Dean of the Columbia Journalism School, will be in the audience. Join us after the event for a reception with light refreshments.

If a journalist falls, others rise and collectively continue their work: that’s the simple principle behind Forbidden Stories. It’s not just about solidarity. It is an imperative need to inform the public on subjects as pressing as they are dangerous to cover—such as environmental crimes, corruption, and human rights violations.
Founded in 2015, Society is a free and independent bi-monthly news magazine published by So Press, known for its unique tone and in-depth reporting. Combining narrative journalism, culture, society, and news stories, Society has established itself as a media outlet that tells the world’s stories differently—with depth, humor, and commitment.
