The Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness in Latin America (ECLA) program at Columbia Business School is designed for entrepreneurs from mid-sized Latin American companies with around US $2 million in revenue and about five years in business, who are seeking to expand and compete globally. ECLA equips participants with the skills, tools, and network to professionalize and grow their businesses. A unique aspect is that each company participates with at least two leaders, ensuring a shared mindset for implementing changes.
Since its inception 13 years ago, the program has had significant impact in the region, creating around 10,000 jobs. One of the most innovative aspects of ECLA is that it focuses not only on the professional development of the participants but directly on the company itself. Until 2024, 62 executives from 29 Chilean companies have participated in the program, including ArchDaily, Capitaria, De Fontana, Endeavor, Forex, Khipu, BH Compliance, and All Nutrition, among many others.
The rigorous curriculum includes:
- Classes on campus and online with Columbia’s professors.
- An international study tour.
- Two projects—Process Improvement and Business Growth—guided by faculty advisors and industry mentors.
