Génération Leaders is part of the Assa Traoré Endowment Fund, whose goal is to advance the cause of equality, not in words, speeches, or political intentions, but on the ground, in our lives, in training courses, and in the future we decide to build together.
Launched in 2022, the inaugural class, named after Nobel laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege, consisted of 20 participants for a six-month training program designed to bring together a diverse cohort of individuals and provide them with mentorship from renowned figures across various fields, including activism, education, the arts, and media, as a means to further their personal and collective projects.
Génération Leaders joined the Reid Hall community in its second year. As part of the Paris Global Center’s civic engagement initiatives, which facilitate capacity-building programs as well as social and cultural outreach. Benefitting from Reid Hall’s classroom and event spaces, the program organizes encounters with prominent political thinkers, sociologists, authors, and other figures. It also organizes public events, such as a photo exhibition concerning police brutality in France.
Through these regular workshops and discussions, Génération Leaders ensures that participants not only learn from the experiences of others but also gain the structural, intellectual, and cultural tools necessary to confront and overcome many of today’s challenges. By uniting individuals with a shared vision, the program fosters a community where participants are empowered to think, act, and lead together.
Génération Leaders is currently accepting applications to join the third cohort. Interested candidates should apply by December 31, 2024 by emailing [email protected]. Learn more.
At its core, Génération Leaders is about occupying space, reclaiming freedom, and building a future where equality and opportunity are accessible to all, regardless of background, race, or religion. It is a call to action to dismantle racism, challenge inequalities, and create a world where justice prevails.
