ANA MARIA graduated in Medical School, and has worked in Pernambuco State Office from 1994 to 2016, in different areas, such as Pediatrics ER Doctor, and management position. Now she is working at the Interior Superintendence of IMIP, responsible for management of countryside health services in Pernambuco and Bahia. ANA MARIA has specialization courses in Clinic Audit;  Government Management;  Professional Master of Health Vigilance of Ministry of Health; and MBA in Leadership and Public Management-MLG/CLP. She was Municipal Health Secretary in Caruaru/PE from Jan/2017 to Dec/2018, and since Jun/2019, she is Municipal Health Secretary in Olinda/PE.


 

CARLA AMARAL DE ANDRADE JUNQUEIRA

CARLA has a PhD of Economic Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Master of Economic Law from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. Specialized in Economic Law, she has been assisting clients in Trade Remedy Proceedings, WTO Law, customs procedures and regulatory cases for over 20 years. She is currently the Chair of the IASP International Trade Studies Committee, as well as current Vice-Chair of the Latin America and of the International Trade Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA), and of the Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). Carla was recently included in the Brazilian list of panelists of the WTO Dispute Settlement system, and in 2019 she founded her own law firm CJA TRADE LAW, composed exclusively by female professionals. 


 

CHARLOTTE CASTELLO BRANCO JONQUA

CHARLOTTE holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with legal residency at the State University Of Rio de Janeiro and currently a MBA student on Governmental Relations at FGV. After working for six years as a lawyer on private offices, in 2015 she was nominated Legislative Consultant of the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Chamber. In that role, she helps the city councilors formulate programs and edit local bills of law. In 2018, she was appointed as Substitute Head of the “Legislative Consulting and Advising” department, where she directly assists the organization's management.


 

CINTIA REGINA VASCONCELLOS DA COSTA LIMA

CINTIA is a Social Worker, and has worked with health and mental disability. After she completed her postgraduate studies in Quality and Productivity / CEFET-RJ, she started working at the Federal Highway Police (PRF), where she stood out in team organization and was invited to perform duties. CINTIA was head of various areas in People Management and Ministry of Justice. Also, she holds a MBA in Administration with emphasis on People from FGV. She lived in Spain for 2 years, and after returning to Brazil, she worked as a People Management Coordinator. CINTIA has returned to PRF to create parliamentary advice for the promotion of laws for improvements in public and road safety. Now, she is Chief of Staff of the PRF Directorate-General.


 

DEBORA DANTAS PIO DA COSTA

DEBORA DANTAS was born and raised at Vila Kennedy, and she is a journalist with a Master of sciences in Communication and Culture. This year, she is starting a PhD in Communications. She works at "Nossas", an activism laboratory that organizes and empower people to take action through technologie. Her job is to coordinate a team that follows the city policy and conduct campaigns for a more sustainable and inclusive city. 


 

DÉBORA SILVA TEIXEIRA

DÉBORA SILVA is a doctor with residency in Family Medicine and a Master's Degree in Education from UFRJ. She is currently a PhD student at the Institute of Social Medicine of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Since 2010, Débora SIlva is a Professor of Medicine at UERJ and a researcher focused on the implementation of mental health interventions. She has worked for more than 3 years in Rio's health department as a technical advisor in primary health care. She also works at the State Department of Health, collaborating in the implementation of medical residency within the state.


 

DÉBORA DE BARROS AUGUSTO

Green Areas Coordinator | Rio de Janeiro City Hall

DÉBORA DE BARROS graduated in Chemical Engineering with emphasis in Environment at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. That same year, she joined the Rio de Janeiro City Environmental Secretariat as an environmental licensing analyst. In 200, she completed her master's degree in risk analysis in contaminated areas. In 2014, she took over the environmental licensing management of industries, sewage treatment plants and electricity, and in 2017, she started working as the general coordination of environmental licensing of Rio de Janeiro City Hall. In May 2019, she became the general coordinator of the green areas of Rio de Janeiro City Hall, and in January 2021, she became Environmental Sub Secretary.


 

FERNANDA CALOI GOSSON JORGE

FERNANDA studied Business, and has worked for three major companies. First, she was President of the student body in her University, and after tthat, she worked for five years at General Electric. Now, Fernanda works at Google, where she is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be leading the efforts in entrepreneurship for the country for the past four years.


 

GABRIELA GAMBI

GABRIELA has a Bachelor in International Affairs (PUC), and holds a post-grad in Political Science (UnB) and a Master in Sociology from LSE. She has strong experience in public administration, having worked for the past decade in the Brazilian Ministry of Culture; in the Ministry of Social Development, and in São City Hall as Special Adviser to the Mayor. Currently, Gabriela is the Executive Manager at CIEB (NGO for innovation and public education) and also directs Instituto Construção with specific projects in Heliópolis favela.


 

GRAZIELLE BARRETO GOMES

GRAZIELLE went to Ernst & Young University and won an award at the Inter-American Development Bank Program. With over 10 years as civil servant, Grazielle is a Specialist in Public Policy post graduated in Governmental Management. Currently managing the professional development of Public Purchasing area at the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, she leads the training demands by stimulating integration and knowledge sharing. She has experience in different areas at the municipal and state levels, developing a professional profile focused on participatory planning and institutional articulation. 


 

HELOÍSA FAVA FAGUNDES

HELOÍSA has two graduation degrees: one in Environmental Control and the other in Biological Sciences at Campinas’ State Universtiy and Claretianos University, and she also has a post graduation in Environmental Laws at Paraná´s Federal University and a Master in Leadership and Public Management at Public Leadership Center and Harvard Kennedy School. Heloísa has been working since 2008 at Campinas City Hall at the Sustainable Development Secretariat, coordinating fiscalization, dealing with animal welfare, wildlife and the Atlantic forest. 


 

ILANA PARGA NINA BOETGER DE OLIVEIRA

ILANA graduated in Geography with emphasis in Landscape Ecology, Geomorphology, Permaculture, Agroforestry and Food Security. She has worked as an assistant at the University Environmental Center for two years developing and implementing environmental projects (environmental education and deforestation control). Stated at Funbio as Project Assistant in 2011, she was promoted in 2014 to Project Manager, and in 2019 to Portfolio Manager. Ilana managed complex projects within 6 Brazilian Biomes, allocating over R$300 million into Biodiversity conservation, part of Funbio’s Gender Committee. 


 

ISABEL ACHÉ PILLAR

ISABEL is an economist with BA at UFRJ and MA at Ibmec RJ. She started her professional career as a researcher at her university, and already has experiences in the public, private and third sectors and brief international experiences. She has over 9 years of experience in the mining industry, almost 10 with CSR and social projects in Brazil and 3 years in a corporate foundation sponsored by the financial market – mainly Credit Suisse and Verde Asset Management.


 

IONATA DE SOUZA RODRIGUES

IONATA is currently a medical student, but has a background in humanities in theology, and she also has a Master's Degree in Sociology. After entering medical school, she realized how black people are excluded and that led her to become a human rights activist and anti-racist. Currently, she is leading the Negrex Collective.


 

ISABELA MEIRELLES DE SOUZA FERREIRA

ISABELA holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Production Engineer from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2011), and she is a Master of Science in Chemistry from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2014). Currently, she is doing a Ph.D program in the Chemistry Graduate Program (PGQu) from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and working as a Criminal Expert at Rio de Janeiro State Police since 2014, acting as Criminal Expert Service Chief since 2017. Isabela has experience in Chemistry, focusing on trace analysis in biological samples, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and forensic chemistry.


 

JUANA MAGDALENA KWEITEL

JUANA is the executive director of Conectas Human Rights since December 2016. She has a Masters in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex (UK) and in Political Science from the USP. She graduated as a lawyer, with honors, from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She has worked in Argentina as institutional coordinator of CELS (Center for Legal and Social Studies). Juana serves on the Board of Trustees of Global Witness, UK, she is also a member of Developments in the Field Panel of the Business and Human Rights Journal, published by Cambridge University Press.


 

KAMYLA BORGES DA CUNHA

Project Coordinator | Climate and Society Institute

KAMYLA has a bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s Degree and PhD in energy planning. Recently, she concluded her postdoctoral studies in Law, which focused on climate litigation in Brazil. She also has a brief experience as a teacher, being responsible for environmental policy and law disciplines in the Federal University of São Paulo. She has twelve years working in Brazilian environmental non-governmental organizations, coordinating projects related to efficient, clean and sustainable energy. I have experience in dealing with Brazilian environmental issues, mainly those related to the electricity sector.  


 

LAURA SORIANO YAWANAWA

Laura is a Zapotec and Mixtec indigenous from Oaxaca, Mexico.  She holds a degree in  international relations from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, USA, focused on the political affairs of indigenous peoples.  She comes from the northern hemisphere, from a matriarchal culture. Seventeen years ago, she married a chief of an Amazonian indigenous people - Tashka Yawanawá. Since then, they have worked together for the good of the Yawanawá people. She now serves as the CEO of the Yawanawá / ASCY Sociocultural Association. She considers herself an instrument, helping to transform a community of a deeply masculine culture into one that is more open and inclusive of women. 


 

LETICIA FERRARO ARTUSO

Project Manager | Center for Sustainability Studies at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGVces)

LETICIA holds a Master’s degree in Public Management and Policy from FGV-EAESP, Graduate degree in Ecology from UNESP, and MBA in Management and Environmental Technology from USP. She has worked as an Environmental Coordinator at a multinational company in the seismic area and at an environmental legislation consulting firm. Currently, Leticia works as Project Manager at Local Development Program of the Center for Sustainability Studies at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGVces), focusing on territorial governance and socioeconomic impacts in territories affected by large-scale projects.


 

MARIANA CARVALHO GOMES

She is always learning about new methods and best practices, as well as ways to develop and implement projects in different (cultural, political and financial) contexts. MARIANA is a Master in Urban Management and Development, at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Returning to her hometown, she was hired as a civil servant by the municipality to collaborate with the Teresina 2030 strategy to promote innovation towards sustainable urban development.

MARIELA graduated in Biology at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, and she holds a Masters degree in Botany and an MBA in Project Management. Since 2014, she has been working as Project Manager at International Institute for Sustainability, where she is responsible for the operational, financial and personal management of socio-environmental projects.


 

MARÍLIA CARVALHO DE MELO

MARÍLIA is a Civil Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2002. In the same year, she entered the Minas Gerais State Institute for Water Management (IGAM) as a water usage rights concession analyst. In 2006, she earned her master’s degree in sanitation, environment and water resources, also from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). In 2007, she was appointed for her first management position as director of environmental monitoring and inspection of IGAM. In 2015, she earned her PhD in Water Resources from the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ) focusing on water supply safety. In 2017, I returned as Director General of IGAM, position she still occupies.


 

MÔNICA SODRÉ PIRES

MÔNICA is a 33-year-old political scientist, with a PhD in International Relations at University of São Paulo (USP). For the past two years, she has been directing The Network of Political Action for Sustainability – RAPS, an non-governmental and non-partisan organization that works for the strengthening of democracy in Brazil. 


 

PERLA RIBEIRO

Human Rights Commission Coordinator | Legislative Chamber of the Federal District

PERLA graduated in Political Science at the University of Brasilia in 2000. Since 1997, she has been working with Human Rights, with emphasis on the Children Rights. She has also participated in the elaboration of several public policy’s plans and approval procedures of laws, regarding children and adolescents, such as the National Plan Against Sexual Violence of Children and Adolescent; the National System of Socio Educational Services – SINASE; among others. 
 


 

SUZANA DOS SANTOS BARBOSA

SUZANA has graduated in Geography in 2008 at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and after finishing her masters in 2011, she started her career in public management as a geographer at State Institute of the Environmental (INEA). In 2015, she was invited to work for the Brazilian Institute of Municipal Administration (IBAM), where she works with environmental managers from Amazon cities, supporting environmental policy implementation. Nowadays, she works at São João de Meriti City Hall as a project superintendent searching for formulate public policies with evidences. 


 

THAIS FERRAZ SOARES

THAIS graduated in Environmental Engineering. From March 2014 to September 2018, she occupied the position of senior advisor to the CEO, dealing not only with strategic sustainability issues but also with energy and regulatory issues. In October 2018, she returned to ENGIE, where she was an intern years before, as an Environment, Corporate Social Responsibility and Energy Transition Manager, where she was responsible for monitoring and ensuring the application of the best environmental and sustainability practices in ENGIE’s activities in Brazil, anticipating and preparing the Company for the low carbon economy.

THAIS is the Superintendent of Climate Change at SEAS-RJ, leading the adaptation and mitigation agendas in the State. She is a biologist with master's degree and pHD in Ecology with a research project on Sustainable Development and Ecosystem-based Adaptation to Climate Change. She has developed her career with activities and research related to Biodiversity Conservation, Landscape Ecology, Climate Change, Sustainability and Conservation, to subsidize decision-making and public policies.
