Ifriqiya: the Art and Architecture of Tunisia - Discovering Tunis

The 10 scholars participating in the "Ifriqiya: the Art and Architecture of Tunisia" workshop enjoyed a guided tour of the European City and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tunis (Medina). They visited some of the Medina palaces, its landmarks and those of the European City, and discovered the oldest mosque in Tunis, the Great Mosque of Zitouna. 

This two-day tour was organized by Columbia Global Centers | Tunis, in partnership with the Columbia University in the City of New York Department of Art History & Archeology, and guided by Ms. Sihem Lamine, architect and Harvard CMES Tunisia office manager, Dr. Iheb Guermazi, architect and university professor, and Dr. Adnen El Ghali, architect, and urban historian.
