CBS Alumni Club of Chile Holds End of Year Event

November 22, 2022

The Columbia Business School (CBS) Alumni Club of Chile held its end of the year social event on Thursday, November 17, at the terrace of Matrix Consulting with a sweeping view of the Santiago skyline.

During the event, CBS Alumni Club of Chile president, Alex Sideman (CBS’17), Director of Development at Asset AGF, reviewed the highlights of the year, which included driving the organization of Finance Minister Mario Marcel’s visit to Columbia in the context of Chile Day, sponsoring an information session for CBS admissions, and holding a reception for admitted CBS students. To date, there are 194 CBS alumni in Chile, he noted, with a notable upward trend in the number of admitted and active CBS students.

Sideman added that it is time to renew the board and called for interested CBS alumni to apply. “I'm glad to have welcomed our Alumni Club members and other members of the Columbia community in Chile to our annual event and presentation. After two years, it was significant for us to reunite the Club and personally invite members to apply for leadership of the organization,” he said. “I'm especially excited for the possibility offered by larger class sizes and more Chileans at CBS. I have strong expectations for the continuity of the club and look forward to attending more activities and events next year.”

He proposed that initiatives the board could address in 2023 included: looking for sponsorship to finance events and other initiatives, improve engagement at events, leverage online platforms for event development, creation of a website and strengthening online ties between alumni, and producing an alumni newsletter.
