The Tunis Center is located a few kilometers away from Carthage. Tunisia, in addition, was the core of several North African kingdoms for three thousand years. Yet interest in Tunisia's past, and North Africa's in general, has been limited at Columbia University. It is the Tunis Center's mission to link both sides. The Center will hence set up archaeological tours for undergraduate and graduate students and encourage research projects in the topic of Ancient History.
