Barnard Class of 2023 Welcome Reception and Alumnae Summer Gathering

On July 29, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and Barnard Alumnae Club of China hosted the Barnard Class of 2023 Welcome Reception and Alumnae Summer Gathering. The event invited all new students, transfer students, exchange students, current students, and alumnae to network with their fellows and seniors, sharing their expectations and experiences with Barnard.

The event began with opening remarks from Julia QIAN BC ’15, President of the Barnard Alumnae Club of China, to introduce the mission of the China Club. Qian encourages all Barnard members to get involved in and together build the local Barnard community. The representative of the Beijing Center also introduced the vision and programs of the Beijing Center and the long historical connection between the University and China.

The remarks were followed by an icebreaker game and an informal discussion, which provided an opportunity for new students to ask questions regarding academic, social, and personal life at Barnard.
