Beijing Dialogue with Mr. Zhengyu Huang and Professor Yuhuang Zheng

May 24, 2018

On May 24, 2018, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing hosted a dialogue featuring Mr. Zhengyu Huang, former White House Fellow and former Managing Director at Intel Corporation, and Professor Yuhuang Zheng from Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management. The two speakers had a discussion on lifelong learning and self-development.

Mr. Huang introduced his new book, Lifelong Learning: Six Lessons after Harvard, in which he talks about what he has learned from his meeting with some of the greatest persons in the world. The book covers six aspects of life, including health, mood, mind, relationship, career, and wealth. “Now when I look back, I strongly feel that learning in these ways is really important and meaningful,” said Mr. Huang. “If I can have a thorough knowledge of my health, emotion control, mind breaking, interpersonal relationship, career development, and wealth management, I would know where my life goes and what my life will be like. People who do well in these aspects respectively, as far as I know, are truly successful. This is not just a progress in self-development, but more importantly, it is a transition of mind and attitude.” In the meantime, Mr. Huang encourages the audience to make their best use of every piece of time and to enrich themselves with knowledge, so as to pursue lifelong learning.

In a digitalized world, we are always confused. What should we learn? How can we learn? How can we make the best use of our knowledge? Mr. Huang, through his new book, brings out a new perspective. With his own experiences, Mr. Huang, who walks at the frontier of our era, inspires us to keep learning and creating over a lifetime.
