Columbia Entrepreneurship Panel in Shenzhen

On November 12th, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and Columbia Alumni Association of Shenzhen successfully hosted the Columbia Entrepreneurship Panel in Shenzhen, celebrating the establishment of CAA Shenzhen.

Cindy Liu, Co-President of CAA Shenzhen, delivered opening remarks and announced the launch of CAA Shenzhen. Ms. Liu introduced CAA Shenzhen's board members and its future plan and conveyed her warm welcome to all CU alumni to join and engage with CAA Shenzhen. Xin Peng, CFO and Executive Director of Columbia Global Centers, attended the event, congratulating CAA Shenzhen's launch and introducing nine Columbia Global Centers around the world. Helena Xiao, Program Manager at Columbia Global Centers | Beijing, presented an introduction on Beijing Center's programs and activities and in the meantime, she said Beijing Center is looking forward to supporting CAA Shenzhen and building further cooperation promoting mutual benefit.


Five Columbia panelists were Mr. Yan Jin, General Manager of Pure Faith Asset Management (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Roger Wu, Partner of Maison Capital; Mr. Joe Wang, General Manager of CMS Media & Entertainment Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Co-President of CAA Shenzhen; Ms. Ruifen Xu, Founding Partner of RIC Capital Management and Board Member of CAA Shanghai; and Mr. Tristan Xin, Executive Director of Danen Ventures. Mr. Chuang Pei, Secretary to Chairman of the Southern Capital Management and Secretary General of CAA Shenzhen, served as the moderator.

Mr. Joe Wang firstly delivered a keynote speech, sharing his perspectives on entrepreneurship as an investor. During the discussion, five panelists spoke about topics regarding how investors select investment opportunities, the characteristics a successful investor carries, the Le.com’s crisis, the future prospects of AI, and the trends of future society development.

Nearly 60 Columbia alumni attended the panel.

The Columbia Entrepreneurship Panel Series is launched by Columbia Global Centers | Beijing. Cooperating with Columbia Alumni Associations in multiple cities, Beijing Center has successfully held four panel discussions in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen with 22 entrepreneurs, investors, and venture capitalists contributing their knowledge and insights on entrepreneurship and investment.
