Michael Harris, Professeur de Mathématiques à Columbia University (http://www.math.columbia.edu/~harris/website/), a exploré une hypothèse — que c'est justement à travers l'analyse des caractéristiques de ces langages que la communication sur les sens des mathématiques devient possible — et son corollaire paradoxale — que nos interlocuteurs idéaux sont des spécialistes littéraires plutôt que les autres mathématiciens.
