Columbia Global Debates is a new format for public discussions on global issues filmed before a studio audience and streamed live around the world. 

Columbia University has announced the second Request for Proposals for the President’s Global Innovation Fund.  

The 29 students in this year’s GSAPP New York-Paris Program have undergone an impressive transformation, the results of which were apparent to all present at Columbia Global Centers | Paris in May during their Intensif Workshop.

More than 200 guests came to Columbia Global Centers | Paris for an afternoon discussion with Robert Wilson, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Willem Dafoe.

Columbia Global Centers recently hosted two discussions at its Rio de Janeiro Center to launch the inaugural Columbia Global Debates, a pilot program connecting all eight centers and the main campus with a live audience in Brazil.

Columbia Global Centers | Turkey and Ashoka co-hosted a roundtable on "Social Innovation in Higher Education" in the context of the 1st "Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship Summit" in Istanbul. The summit, co-hosted by BMW Foundation, took place at SALT Galata, on October 24. 2013.

A one-day workshop on press freedom and geopolitical developments in the Middle East and Turkey brought together a distinguished group of more than 20 regional and international scholars, journalists, and researchers.

At a time when the rapid pace of events is causing profound uncertainty and turmoil across the region, this workshop aimed to offer a space for critical reflection and analysis of recent political events as well as the current state(s) of press freedom across the region.

Columbia President Lee C. Bollinger opened the World Writers' Festival at a reception attended by more than 200 people at Reid Hall in Paris, home of Columbia Global Centers | Europe.

Author Ishmael Beah spoke with French students at Columbia Global Centers | Paris to share some of his experiences as a boy in the war in Sierra Leone. Beah, who also answered questions from the students, appeared as part of the World Writers’ Festival that opens today. The festival is hosted at the Paris Center and various locations around the city and is co-sponsored by Columbia University and Bibliothèque nationale de France.

Columbia University Chaplain Jewelnel Davis recently spent a week in Rio de Janeiro, following her trip to Chile. 

The Rio de Janeiro Alumni Club inaugurated a brownbag seminarseries at the Center on August 19th.
