A group of thirty key stakeholders from the education sector in Kenya gathered at the Columbia Global Centers | Nairobi to deliberate the future of education in areas plagued by insecurity and conflict.

Participants engaged in a panel discussion with the representatives from the Ministry of Education in Kenya, lauding the research as long overdue, noting that the government was keen to have more reports focusing on the cause of conflict.Participants from the non-governmental organizations applauded the research as timely and one that confirmed that inclusion was the ultimate solution to conflict.

The Columbia Global Centers | Middle East continues to hold the Columbia Experience Overseas Program (CEO), in partnership with the Center for Career Education at Columbia University. Gordon Hoxie Professor of American History at Columbia University, unfolded the dynamic history of American women gaining and defining their citizenship. She began her remarks by commenting on the success of a 2013 book written by Sheryl Sandberg,the COO of Facebook, which urged women to assert themselves and accelerate career demands.
